The recital will be followed by a catered dinner. The menu will be a choice of (choose 1) grilled salmon, chicken palliard or baked ham (served with grilled vegetables, tri-colore salad and fusilli pasta with asparagus). Dessert is fruit platter and cookies. Bottles of Perrier and/or red or white wine will also be provided. The cost of the dinner will be $30 per person. Please make your reservations no later than May 21st by sending a check to:

Of course, the final event of the 2006-07 program year will be the Region II Convention. The Steering Committee has worked diligently to provide a truly exciting program of events. So, if you have not already registered for the convention, please do so as soon as possible in order to make certain you have a place at the workshops of your choice.
If you are coming from out of town, please make your hotel reservations as soon as possible. The first week of July is actually a very busy week in New York City and hotel rooms are hard to come by, so please take advantage of the convention room block while there are still rooms available at the special convention rate of $199 per room.
Why not take a moment to finalize your plans to attend the Convention today?

John Weaver to be Honored at Organ Festival
JOHN WEAVER will be honored by the 2007 Trinity Church Conservatory
Stars Organ Festival, July 5 through August 9. Five of his former
students are involved: Cameron Carpenter, Felix Hell, Alan Morrison,
Paul Jacobs, and organ builder David Ogletree of Marshall & Ogletree.
Weaver will attend a reception in his honor after Carpenter's July 5
concert, which opens the 2007 series featuring American music
conservatory concert organists. Each concert in the series is also
available live or on-demand at www.TrinityWallStreet.Org.
The July 5 reception will begin at 3 PM at 74 Trinity Place, behind
Trinity Church. Carpenter's program is two hours long because it is
the last concert of the National Convention of the American Theatre
Organ Society, which runs concurrent with the New York Regional AGO
Convention, also in New York City. Marshall & Ogletree has installed
64 Wurlitzer Alternate Stops in honor of the theatre organ attendees,
giving the instrument a total of 304 PipeSourced® voices from which
Carpenter can choose.
The concerts are all on Thursdays at 1 PM, and listed in the AGO
newsletter calendar. The recitals are free to the public, and a
reception is held after each concert. The receptions are all at Manon
Café, 74 Trinity Place, with the exception of the July 5 reception in
honor of John Weaver, which will be on the 2nd floor of 74 Trinity
Place. AGO members are invited to attend all the receptions. |
