The Ocean Parkway Methodist Episcopal Church was originally known as Ridley Memorial M.E. Church, located on Lawrence Avenue near Ocean Parkway in Parkville. Electricity was introduced to the church in 1896, with twenty-two lights in the church and eleven in the lecture room. In 1902, the Epworth League of Ridley Memorial celebrated its tenth anniversary, so the church dates back to at least that time. In 1911, a new church was built at Ocean Parkway and Foster Avenue, two blocks north of the earlier location, and the church was known as Ocean Parkway Methodist Episcopal Church. This church no longer exists.

J.H. & C.S. Odell
New York City (date unknown)
Mechanical action
2 manuals, 23 stops

At an unknown time, the church acquired an organ built by J.H. & C.S. Odell of New York City. The Odell Opus LIsts do not show an organ for this congregation, so it may be presumed that the organ was a second-hand instrument. Due to it having mechanical action, it seems possible that the organ was installed in the first building, and then moved to the 1911 building. In 1913, Reuben Midmer & Sons of Brooklyn installed an blower for this organ. Specifications for this organ have not yet been located.
