The parish of St. Francis of Paola was established in 1918 to serve Roman Catholics in the Williamsburg area of Brooklyn. About that time, the first church building was erected. The present building was opened in 1941.

The following specification was recorded by Louis F. Mohr & Co., an organ service firm in the area. Mohr noted that the organ had a 73-note chest, a detached console and electric action. Mohr's handwritten specification was dated May 5, 1955, indicating that the 1928 Möller organ had been moved from the original building to the present church.
