Chapter End-of-Season Service and Reception

Chapter End-of-Season Service and Reception
Sunday, June 2 – 4 PM
First Presbyterian Church
Fifth Avenue at 12th Street

Please note the change of venue.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the Chapter’s final event for the season had to be moved from Madison Avenue Presbyterian Church. We are delighted to announce that it now will be held at the First Presbyterian Church south of Union Square on Fifth Avenue! (Coincidentally, MAPC and First Church were paired on the Chapter’s Pipe Organs of NYC Series which ran during Covid.)

This service, which will feature music of the Presbyterian Church’s tradition, will hopefully inaugurate a new annual custom, with subsequent years exploring the repertoire and showcasing the talents of Chapter members in other denominations.

Worship on June 2nd will be led by the Reverend Dr. Barbara Davis, Executive Minister of First Church. The service will be sung by members of the First Church Choir and Organist and Director of Music Michael Shake.

First Presbyterian Church is home to Sebastian M. Glück’s Op. 12 (2007) of four manuals and 93 ranks. (Glück’s Op. 20 was at Marble Collegiate Church was also heard this year.)

A festive reception will follow on First Church’s beautiful South Lawn. If the weather is inclement, it will be held inside.

The event is free for all.
