Chapter Opening Event: Members Recital at Saint Agnes Church
7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. | Saint Agnes Church
143 East 43rd Street, east of Lexington Avenue
Members of your NYCAGO Executive Committee will present an evening of American organ music. These wonderful and likely unknown works, including compositions by New York organists Seth Bingham, Calvin Hampton, Eugene Thayer, John Weaver, and Searle Wright, as well as George Baker, Arthur Foote, Nico Muhly, Gerald Near, and Brenda Portman, have been chosen as accessible additions to your own library. Come to support your colleagues and enjoy a festive reception afterwards. The event is free for all and is open seating.
The two manual, 41 rank Mander tracker at Saint Agnes, installed in 1998, is one of the hidden gems of New York. This finely voiced instrument is certainly one of the most successful and versatile of its size.
