Trinity Church
89 Broadway at Wall Street
Celebrating the completion of Trinity Church’s new Glatter-Götz/Rosales organ, Opus 40, the Parish is sponsoring a series of events this season.
One of the preeminent soloists in the U.S. today, Stephen Tharp highlights the vast orchestral range of Trinity’s magnificent instrument with his own transcriptions of Liszt’s Totentanz and Jongen’s final movement of the Symphonie Concertante, as well as an adaptation of Wagner’s Liebestod from Tristan und Isolde. The centerpiece of the evening is his thrilling adaptation of Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring, which will demonstrate the organ’s full power and gamut of colors.
Although the event is free to all, the NYCAGO has a block of 20 reserved tickets. If you would like one, please email Janet Yieh by Sunday, October 5th.
There will also be a chance to greet the artist after the recital. Janet Yieh will offer further details at the door.
