This organ was originally built for St. Andrew-on-Hudson Roman Catholic Seminary, Hyde Park, N.Y. When that facility was sold to the Cuilinary Institute of America, the organ was removed by William F. Laws and installed in St. Peter Claver Church.

The Articles of Agreement (May 29, 1926) between J.H. & C.S. Odell and St. Peter Claver's R.C. Church (Rev. Bernard J. Quinn, Rector) show that Odell would build a two-manual organ that would be set up complete and ready for use on or before the 24th of November. Total cost of the organ was $6,300.
