The 1010-seat State Theatre on DeKalb Avenue opened in 1921, and was one of architect Charles Sandblom's first projects after he left Thomas Lamb to start his own firm. The State showed three movies a week, and was part of the Interboro chain. The State was closed in 1965 to make way for a community center.

This organ was shipped on December 6, 1927, and was moved to a lodge in San Antonia, TX on September 15, 1934. Over the years, the organ was dispersed for parts. Following is a Style 108 specification, but additional stops may have been added to make this a "Special."
