Terminal Theatre

47 Fourth Avenue at Dean Street
Brooklyn, N.Y. 11217

The Terminal Theatre was named for the Brooklyn terminal of the Long Island Railroad, located a few blocks from the site. Opened on September 30, 1925, the 1,627-seat theatre was designed by Eugene DeRose. Over the years, its seating capacity was greatly reduced.

It was briefly named Tony's Movie House in its last days as a Spanish-language theatre before closing in the late 1960s.

Since the Terminal Theatre closed, the building has been occupied by two churches. The current owners, Iglesia Universal del Reino de Dios, have restored the theatre.
