The Tremont Terrace Moravian Church was organized in 1872 as the Second Moravian Church of New York City. From 1872-1906, the society was located on East 6th Street near Avenue C in Manhattan. In 1906, the congregation relocated to the Bronx in a church located on Wilkins Avenue at Jennings Street. In 1923, the congregation moved into the former Ferris Mansion on Mayflower Avenue. The present brick church building, which faces Pilgrim Avenue, was built in 1929, and the old mansion was used as a parsonage and Sunday School building until the mid-1960s, when it was replaced by an addition to the church building.
