Trinity Lutheran Church was begun as a mission of St. Paul Lutheran in Tremont and organized in 1913. The first church was built in 1918 at Westchester and Glebe Avenues. In 1926, the congregation moved to 1519 Castle Hill Avenue at Powell Avenue. At an unknown date, the congregation moved to its present building on Watson Avenue. |

This Schlicker organ was built in 1956 for St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Manhattan. The organ became available in July 2006 when the church (along with the whole block) was slated to be closed and torn down to make way for new condominiums. Elsener Organ Works of Deer Park, N.Y., moved and reinstalled the organ. |
