Original Church of the Good Shepherd (Catholic) - New York City
Original Church (c.1914)
The original building for the Church of the Good Shepherd was erected about 1913, as designed by Thomas H. Poole & Company, and was closer to Cooper Street in a wooded area of Inwood. From the beginning, this parish was home to many Irish immigrants. Paul Monaghan designed the current church, which was built around 1935-36. Although the parish membership now includes many immigrants from the Dominican Republic, the long-time Irish parishioners have maintained their connection with the church.

The Factory Specifications for this organ, dated September 3, 1935, show that Möller agreed to take down the present (Op. 2243) organ, return it to the factory for reconditioning, and then reassemble it in the new church. Möller provided a new two-manual stop-key console and a new chest for the old front speaking pipes. Richard O. Whitelegg designed this organ that was voiced on 5" wind pressure. The organ was to be completed by September 1, 1936.
