Residence of Stephen Rumpf
New York City |
The Music Room includes a two-manual Möller pipe organ (1950); a player grand piano (player removed) by Chickering (c.1922); a double-manual Hubbard "Taskin" harpsichord built by Robert Sigmund and Edward Brewer (1971, 1977); a double-manual Flemish harpsichord built by Edward Turner (1978); and an Italian virginal by William Post Ross (1969). The Turner harpsichord is very closely modeled after two historical harpsichords: the 1638 Ioannes Ruckers in the Russell Collection in Edinburgh, and the 1646 Ioannes Couchet in the Musical Instrument Museum in Brussels. |
