Hilborne L. Roosevelt
New York City – Opus 346 (1886)
Mechanical key and stop action
2 manuals, 12 stops, 14 ranks
The following specifications were recorded by Louis F. Mohr & Co., an organ service firm in the area. Unusually, Mohr did not indicate the date of his visit, but he did note that the organ had an electric motor, 27 front pipes in gold and a chestnut case. He also wrote, "Organ is very dirty. Nothing has been done here for years. Buttons bad. Action rattles."
This organ is nearly identical to Roosevelt's "Style Twenty-eight" stock model, but with modifications:
1. |
|
The Great Organ 8' Salicional with 58 pipes replaced an 8' Dulciana having 46 pipes with its lowest octave grooved to the Doppel Flöte; |
2. |
|
The Great Organ did not have the standard 2' Piccolo Harmonique with 58 pipes; and |
3. |
|
The Swell Organ's 8' Dolce would ordinarily have 46 pipes with its lowest octave grooved to the Stopped Diapason. |
