Grace Lutheran Church

On October 9, 1927, the cornerstone was laid for a new church building located at Olcott and Herrick Streets. Built at a cost of about $35,000, this building was dedicated on December 18, 1927. After 30 years on Olcott Street, the congregation erected the present building, on Union Turnpike between 71st Road and 71st Drive, at a cost of $250,000. The completed edifice was dedicated on October 19, 1958. |

In the 1970s, the Rodgers Organ Company began production of the "Gemini" series, a 'combo' or 'hybrid' instrument that combined a Rodgers console with pipe ranks provided by Fratelli Ruffatti of Padua, Italy. This model had two ranks of pipes (4' Principal and 4' Gedackt) augmented by many electronic stops. |
