III/23 Geo. Kilgen & Son, Op. 4520 (1930)

The Roman Catholic parish of the Holy Child Jesus in Richmond Hill was formed in 1910 when the increasing number of Catholic families necessitated a division of St. Benedict Joseph's parish. Until a church could be built, services were held in Arcanum Hall at the corner of Jamaica and Jefferson Avenues. Construction began on a new church, and the Lower Church was dedicated on December 3, 1911. Ground was broken on May 7, 1916 for the construction of Holy Child of Jesus Parochial School.
