The United Methodist Church of Richmond Hill dates back to 1919 with the organization of Bethany Evangelical United Brethren Church, located at 109th Street near Jamaica Avenue. At a later date (possibly in 1931, when the Midmer-Losh organ was installed) the congregation moved to the present brick building on 107th Avenue and 112th Street. Following the 1968 merger of the Evangelical United Brethren and Methodist denominations to form the United Methodist Church, the church was renamed Bethany United Methodist Church. Today, the congregation is known as the United Methodist Church of Richmond Hill. |
