About Us

Welcome to the New York City Chapter of The American Guild of Organists!

This Chapter is not just open to New York City organists, but also organ enthusiasts and musicians from around the country who want to keep in touch with what’s happening with organ music in the City. Our Presidents’ Day conference and other programs often draw audiences from the Metropolitan region and beyond.

Besides its own performance, education, and social activities, the Chapter hosts AGO Professional Certification exams, local and regional competitions for young organists, the Centennial Millennium Fund, a grant-making body, and more! We are particularly proud of our NYC Organ Project pages. At the link above, you may find specifications, photos, and histories for many of our city’s pipe organs, past and present, and learn about the buildings that house them.
